International Housesitting and Property Caretaking - Part I

I often receive email messages from people who would like to travel internationally but don't want to be confined by the constraints and costs of staying in impersonal hotels or sightseeing with a tour group. My suggestion to them is to explore the option of housesitting and caretaking as a way to see the world and to explore other cultures in depth. Because we are based in the United States, I also hear from subscribers who ask if our positions are restricted to locations in the U.S. The Caretaker Gazette has had positions all over the world for housesitters, pet sitters, and caretakers. Many of our subscribers have taken advantage of the international positions that run in each issue of the Gazette and new positions that appear in our email broadcasts. For those seeking to housesit and caretake outside of the U.S., the new issue of the Gazette and recent email broadcasts included the following positions for caretakers and housesitters:

Italy: caretakers needed in Umbria.

Malaysia: a housesitter, boat sitter, and petsitter needed for a private home.

Mexico: caretaker needed in Baja.

New Zealand: property manager/caretaker needed near Auckland.

Nicaragua: couple needed at eco-lodge off Nicaragua's Caribbean coast.
