International Housesitting and Property Caretaking - Part II

International housesitting and property caretaking can provide world travelers and prospective expats with experiences and insights into the lifestyles and cultures of other countries. Several of our subscribers have asked how they can get started housesitting and property caretaking international properties. Prospective housesitters and caretakers who are interested in a short term housesitting or caretaking positions typically work the arrangement around their vacation schedule. They usually begin looking for an international position and responding to housesitting and caretaking ads several months to a year before their planned vacations. Other adventurous people chose to take a year or more off from work to travel the world or to begin exploring what life in another country might be like. Prior to embarking on their journeys, they utilize the Gazette to set up multiple caretaking, housesitting, or petsitting arrangements so they will be able to work, volunteer, and have a place to stay in each country they visit.
